Treat yourself: The best spa resorts on the planet
We have rounded up some of the world’s most luxurious spa resorts – because sometimes you just want to relax and be pampered on holidays.
Aqua Dome – Austria
This thermal resort in Austria has more than five themed sauna rooms. If that isn’t enough for you, there are 12 pools – some with views of the surrounding Alps.
Amangiri – Utah
This resort is legendary – boasting one of the most dramatic landscapes in the USA. A key feature of the Aman Spa is the Water Pavilion which offers Hydrotherapy treatments. Upon entry, the eye is immediately drawn towards large wooden doors which pivot to reveal an outside area containing a heated, stone-lined, step pool.
Cheval Blanc Randheli – Maldives
Accessible by a traditional boat known as a dhoni, this spa has six massage cabins and two Orchidée Villas, the latter a collaboration with Guerlain. Those familiar with the resort but not the spa should take note that the spa is off on its own island, which is unsurprising for the Maldives.
Four Seasons Resort – Seychelles
Located at the top of the hill, with spectacular views of Petite Anse and the entire Resort, the Spa is designed with a focus on solitude and seclusion. Five individual spa pavilions offer beautiful views of the Indian Ocean.
Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda – Italy
This resort, located in Brescia (northwest Italy), scores full marks from TripAdvisor and a quick Google search reveals under 150,000 results. In short, it is amazing and not that many people know about it. Besides pools and sauna rooms, the spa has two relaxation rooms, including the Sunset Relaxation Area.
